We plan to halve our dependency on fossil fuels sometime in future. They are already working on it. So in future if 50% of the power is generated via renewables itself going to make more sense. Just because something isn’t working now doesn’t mean it won’t in future.
EV powered by thermal plant is still more efficient than an ICE powered car along with lower carbon emission. This is because ICE efficiency is around 30% rest while EV are more than 85% efficient while thermal plants are more efficient than a ICE engine hence EV being coal powered still have lower running carbon emission than ICE
Also fuel for ICE cars also doesn’t appear out of thin air. Huge energy is used in extraction, transportation, storage etc. before it burns in your car’s engine.

The difference in emission between ev and combustion is - once a stable amount of lithium and cobalt is extracted, it will become a circular economy where same lithium and other materials will be recycled. With gasoline that's not possible.
Realistically speaking, only about 2% lithium is recycled. And even among that, more than 90% recycling is done at old plants, where the remaining Automotive grave Lithium (99.9% pure) is only about 60%. About 30% can be used in cheap phone and laptop batteries, while the rest is practically wastage, which can only power rechargable toys. And more importantly, Earth doesn't even have enough Lithium for all cars to be Li Battery powered.
@@divyanshbhutra5071 lithium is 25th most common element on earth. It's an engineering challenge to make extraction economically viable. Today the recycling rate is low because it is cheaper to extract. It is an engineering problem, not a physics problem. EV with solar based electricity are not just sustainable but the future. It will happen and that will make change us from Type 2 (energy from dead organic matter) civilization to Type 3 (energy from the sun). When it will happen depends upon us. The emissions from ev are largely because they depend upon coal powered electricity. However, that is also changing slowly. We need to understand, neither will happen with the click of a button. Gasoline to ev and Coal to renewable will have to be parallel and long drawn process.

@@Risk_taker_350 already purchased bro. Only Hycross had the features and close enough power that I was looking for. But couldn’t wait 14 months at all
it takes too much cost space and weight 1. Already GV/hyry boot loses 100L (350L vs 250L) between hybrid and ice. PHEV will be even smaller boot space, so the idea of using ICE on long trips is moot because boot cannot accommodate luggage for the trip in the first place. Same issue with FCEVs also, long range but no boot space to make use of the range on trips 2. That’s just the battery, you still need OBC, DCDC, BMS, motor, all of this junk is in the front in ev’s where engine was. You can’t put it in front anymore. Anywhere else and service will be a nightmare. Just look up Camry/lexus battery access, while rear seat has to be ripped open. 3. All this drastically increases weight, Nexon EV is 70kg more than ICE after removing engine and ancillaries. If you keep it, it will exceed harrier weight (1700kg) just for Nexon. Handling and suspension goes for a toss 4. Since PHEVs have smaller battery, and mostly no liquid cooling, the battery degradation will be worse than EV. A 250km range Nexon EV is cycled once per week in my 40km per day usage. A PHEV with 40km range will be fully exhausted everyday. I’ll be putting cycles 7x faster on a PHEV which means less longevity. 40x1500 cycles = 60000km. 250x1500 cycles = 375K km 5. PHEVs don’t have DCFC support, so most of the public charging infra is useless for PHEVs. And PHEVs sales do not improve infra for ev’s because ev’s benefit from fast charging - which PHEVs don’t have - and PHEVs can only slow charge - which is not viable for ev’s. You see the problem here? 6. Since PHEVs can’t fast charge, on long trips, you’ll have worse mileage than normal hybrid or even ICE. You can charge if you are staying at a hotel overnight but that’s about it. Even in city, there have been times when I’ve charged at fast charger just because I was already at a mall with charger and I can charge while shopping. With PHEV you can’t. You can slow chargers - but that takes 7-8h which you won’t be spending at any mall or parking other than at homes These are just the technical challenges, with the kind of discipline Indians have, they won’t even bother to charge the cars and run on ICE mode which is worse for emissions - same engine hauling 1700kg car vs 1300kg means less mileage and more emissions than ICE model of same car And it’s not we who lack discipline, even the westerners don’t bother to charge either - so imagining Indians doing it is impossible. www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-54170207.amp www.transportenvironment.org/discover/plug-hybrids-new-emissions-scandal-tests-show-higher-pollution-claimed/ It’s just not viable for the size, price and the weight of cars sold here. In west, you can downsize the engine from a I6/V8 to I4 (what Volvo did) to save space and weight But the same isn’t possible on Indian cars which are already I3/I4 Mazda put a rotary in the MX30 but that has even more emissions than normal ICE as we all know. Only reason it passed because the emissions of ICE mode aren’t considered in WLTP, only the combined mode emissions are.

1) USA EV policies changing from time to time and its so unlear and complex that perople are holding off purchasing Teslas for now. 2) GiGA Berlin attack shuts down Tesla manufacturing, leading to missing production targets. 3) Tesla has no demand constratint, but a supply constraint. Also, a lot of people now wants a Cybertruck instead of Model Y. 4) Tesla has 18% margin on avegage, BYD and TATA are known to make profits, rest Rivian to Lucid to Ford, all loose thousands of dollars on selling EVs. The more they sell them, the more they bleed. 5) I own Nexon EV LR2023, i dont have range anxiety anymore ansd i charge free in office 16 Amp AC chargers, only in highways I had to pay exorbitant power prices in Shell EV or Statiq chargers, which is always once in a long travel while. Anyway, I bough the EV for its very low NVH, and immediate torque, all latest features, great looks, something you have to shell a crore for a similar ICE counterparts. Safety and handling like a sedan, though being a small "coupe SUV" and lowest running cost and greatest reliability. 6) Hybrids sale has increased by cannibalizing the pure ICE category and there is a slum in global ICE sales as well. No boday is pointing to that. People are CORRECT in opting for hybrids instead of pure ICE behicles as they save money in the long term and is the best of both worlds. 7) Very important point people forget is that in USA and Europe ICE vehicles are less than half the price of the EVs and are mostly catered to the luxury segment. 8) Even on buring Coal, power plant is 35% + efficient, compaired to ICE engines which are 20% efficient. Even, with transmission loss counted EVs are still less polluting. EV is a part of the solution cycle, in conjunction with renewable power. Also, nobody talks about that petroleum exploration, refining and transpoert, oil spills takes a huge toll on the environment. When you burn 1 L Petrol in your car, you actually have burned atleast 2 L of it, due to the energy required to refine and transport it. 9) Mining of Lithium causes environmental pollution. YES offcourse, all mining does. So you mine GOLD as well...what about that. In LION battery, Lithium is 4% by weight, Also, as Gold or Silver or Copper, once extracted, they are not thrown away in the air like Fossil fuels, they are recycled. Hence, lithium extraction is a one time thing and can be reused infinitely. Where can we find a better Lithium ore than the used up degraded battery itself? 10) Car lithium batteries has a cycle life of 2000 to 3000. If NEXON EV LR gives a minimum of 300 KMS per cycle, then the life comes to 600000 KMS after which the heath of the battery will be 80% of original. Lets keep that theory aside. Nexon EV comes witth 1.6 L KMS or 8 Years of battery warrany. I am not going to drive any vehicle which has crunched more than 1L KMS anyway. 11) Hybrids are double whammy....now you have both EV parts and ICE parts and both has ro be maintained and since there are too many parts, possibility of breakdown become higher, plus you pay the cost of both. Overall, this video is again another video where the creator tells one side of the truth.
The same was the attitude when Smart phone came to peoples' hands... Maybe exchange of the old to new ones like smartphones may solve the issue in future...
Global EV sales have increase 21% YoY, so it's growing, please cross check with data. Globally legacy automakers are lobbying and pressure to relax on strict rules. And the EVs of this legacy automakers, who are half heartedly committed to zero carbon are more affected. EVs need 4C charging capacity and improved ranges.
8:19 I love Hybrids and ICE cars, but here’s a cold hard fact: Even the least efficient EV with the least efficient manufacturing processes(including mining and everything else), with the dirtiest power source like a coal power plant will still be better for the environment than the most efficient internal combustion engine car after a certain period of time of usage of EV.
Plz note: 1. ratio of coal power generation is coming down and it came below 50 percent mark just recently. 2. you talk about polution caused because of extraction of rare minerals. You think petrol and diesel extraction and manufacturing process don't cause pollution. Do you understand how much heat and polluting agents are continuously caused by ICE vehicles? 3. since EV technology is newer, it will take time to mature and attitudes of buyers will also change over time.
Please make the detailed video because I love it and recently, I understood that before buying second hand car take a test drive and do some research on car buying either first hand or second hand.
We just droppee our plan to buy the Tiago EV last month just at the last moment. Now my father suggested me to get into hybrids too as they are better over all. Best of both worlds.
The biggest problem is lack of fast charging network and exorbitant prices, companies selling ev as premium car , but really you can't sell range anxiety as a luxury feature.
I think that the extraction of elements is only a one time process for making a battery but extracting petrol is a continuous and more polluting process as it has very much higher demand as it's a consumable product and extracting that is also bad for the environment EVs can't be 100% green but lot better than ice(in terms of emmision) and coming to Toyota's 1:6:90 rule i think they are only talking about the battery resources which are used in hybrids but they also have other components(engine,gears..) in the hybrid car which are much more resource demanding than an ev as hybrids are lot more complex than an ice or ev currently evs have lot of problem but companies know that they need to invest in it so that in upcoming years they can rivel normal cars are fuel prices are going to go higher
Battery technology mei koi badi badlav nahi toh yeh toh hona ho tha. Jab tak Battery technology Fossil Fuel ki tulna mei jyada range nahi deti & charging time competitive nahi hoti tab tak yeh positive badlav nahi dikhayega.

@sa-yn8np in china ev only 2 wheelers are there in operation since 15 years of so.. ive seen ev bikes used to have a range of 20kms with lead acid batteries. now evs are having li ion and lead acid batteries with 40 - 60 km range as very common that too at less than half the price... chinese cities have charging stations every 500metres inside cities... so there is no need to have evs with large range.. if u have a cheap ev car - riding from bangalore to hyd will cost u 300 rupees and if u have a hybrid it will cost u 2000 rupees... so which is better ?? and which is future ??? in cities hybrid car or ice cars will cost u 10rupees to 15 rupees per km but in cities evs will cost u 1 rupee or 2 rupee per km.. so which one is future ???? ice cars or hybrid cars are allowed to run 10-15 years only and after that they have to go to scrap... evs dont need to scrap -- u exchange old battey to new one.... with time and technology battery cost will only come down ..... solar became cheaper by 100 times in 25 years... atleast expect batteries to get cheaper by half in 10 years that will make hybrids go bust and disappear from market.... hybrids exist only dueto expensive li ion batteries...
Hi,
Whenever you decide to bring the detailed video about mining and other socioecological impacts, please do cover the entire life cycle, including the many disastrous impacts associated with the disposal of the battery and replacement cost of a battery.
And, the very charging of a battery - depending on the source of electricity, it is mostly not green.

If the Govt is really serious of environment then they can't be ignorant of Hybrid just for the sake of supporting Indian brands like TATA, M&M as they know very well if Hybrids get Tax subsidies then Suzuki, Toyota and Honda will completely destroy the competition as they are years ahead in Hybrid tech compared to these companies.

Make a ev carbon footprint video
Yes, from 0 to services
The difference in emission between ev and combustion is - once a stable amount of lithium and cobalt is extracted, it will become a circular economy where same lithium and other materials will be recycled. With gasoline that's not possible.
still there is no proof of that. We'll see when they put money where their mouth is. Recycling is a solution, but a very distant dream
@@carwa9651Recycling alone require huge amount of coal power.
EVs aren't sustainable for anyone who isn't a millionaire

Wanted to buy a hybrid, but phev cars are almost non existent in India. Hycross was a good option for a strong hybrid but it has a waiting period of 14 months. So had to buy an ICE car

bro you can even buy grand vitara or toyota or hyryder
@@Risk_taker_350 already purchased bro. Only Hycross had the features and close enough power that I was looking for. But couldn’t wait 14 months at all
it takes too much cost space and weight
1. Already GV/hyry boot loses 100L (350L vs 250L) between hybrid and ice. PHEV will be even smaller boot space, so the idea of using ICE on long trips is moot because boot cannot accommodate luggage for the trip in the first place. Same issue with FCEVs also, long range but no boot space to make use of the range on trips
Handling and suspension goes for a toss
4. 250x1500 cycles = 375K km
You can slow chargers - but that takes 7-8h which you won’t be spending at any mall or parking other than at homes
These are just the technical challenges, with the kind of discipline Indians have, they won’t even bother to charge the cars and run on ICE mode which is worse for emissions - same engine hauling 1700kg car vs 1300kg means less mileage and more emissions than ICE model of same car
And it’s not we who lack discipline, even the westerners don’t bother to charge either - so imagining Indians doing it is impossible. www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-54170207.amp
www.transportenvironment.org/discover/plug-hybrids-new-emissions-scandal-tests-show-higher-pollution-claimed/
It’s just not viable for the size, price and the weight of cars sold here. In west, you can downsize the engine from a I6/V8 to I4 (what Volvo did) to save space and weight
But the same isn’t possible on Indian cars which are already I3/I4
Mazda put a rotary in the MX30 but that has even more emissions than normal ICE as we all know.

Shhh don’t enrage the EV haters
IMO Model Y is better than Cybertruck. I see people mocking Cybertruck everywhere online
Finally, people are realising what I kept telling. You can't rely on only one source of energy for transport!
Please also compare the CO2 emissions of production ev with ice
The same was the attitude when Smart phone came to peoples' hands... Maybe exchange of the old to new ones like smartphones may solve the issue in future...
Global EV sales have increase 21% YoY, so it's growing, please cross check with data. Globally legacy automakers are lobbying and pressure to relax on strict rules. And the EVs of this legacy automakers, who are half heartedly committed to zero carbon are more affected. EVs need 4C charging capacity and improved ranges.
People don’t understand basic difference between sales and sales growth
You can’t expect people blinded by EV hate to understand such nuances

8:19 I love Hybrids and ICE cars, but here’s a cold hard fact: Even the least efficient EV with the least efficient manufacturing processes(including mining and everything else), with the dirtiest power source like a coal power plant will still be better for the environment than the most efficient internal combustion engine car after a certain period of time of usage of EV.
Don't know why some guys are saying ev's are the future i think they are specific brand fan boys 🍼🍼😂

I think that the extraction of elements is only a one time process for making a battery but extracting petrol is a continuous and more polluting process as it has very much higher demand as it's a consumable product and extracting that is also bad for the environment
EVs can't be 100% green but lot better than ice(in terms of emmision)
and coming to Toyota's 1:6:90 rule i think they are only talking about the battery resources which are used in hybrids but they also have other components(engine,gears..) in the hybrid car which are much more resource demanding than an ev as hybrids are lot more complex than an ice or ev
currently evs have lot of problem but companies know that they need to invest in it so that in upcoming years they can rivel normal cars are fuel prices are going to go higher
